The difference between an external HDD or SSD

A HDD is an external storage medium with a magnetized metal disk. When it spins around, it scans the disk and then accesses it. An SSD, on the other hand, contains no moving parts and works with memory chips. The SSD is therefore usually faster, while the HDD is available in larger capacities and is cheap.

External hard drive security

Anyone who thinks of external portable storage often quickly thinks of security risks. Thanks to hardware-based encryption and additional software or hardware encryption, your organization's data remains inaccessible. Even if the portable hard drive ends up in the wrong hands.

External storage with password

Hardware-encrypted hard drives are password-protected, with or without two-factor authentication, allowing data to remain encrypted when the drive is not in use. After entering a password, a second step is to use the RFID card to access the drive. This extra step makes your data even more secure.
