IronKey D500S: military-level hardware encryption - pending 140-3 level 3 certification
In the world of data security, there is one brand that tops the list when it comes to protecting classified information on USB sticks: IronKey. And with the upcoming FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certification, including the latest NIST enhancements for secure microprocessor upgrades and a reliable security chain with secure components, IronKey stays one step ahead of the rest.
Why IronKey D500S?
The IronKey D500S is no ordinary USB drive; it is the indispensable key to complying with the strictest data protection standards. With its military-grade security level, it ensures compliance with encryption regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOX and CCPA. The IronKey D500S offers advanced features for ultimate security and protection, designed specifically for government and military use. Data is encrypted and decrypted on the D500S without leaving any traces on the host system. With hardware-based XTS-AES 256-bit encryption and an indestructible zinc case that is waterproof, dustproof and crush-proof, the D500S offers the highest level of protection even against physical attacks.
The Managed model
The managed version, IronKey D500SM (where 'M' stands for Managed), requires SafeConsole management from DataLocker. This allows organisations to centrally manage IronKey Managed sticks and USB ports. The SafeConsole-managementplatform is gebruiksvriendelijk en biedt beheerders verschillende licenties, waaronder Device Control, Anti-malware, PortBlocker en SafeCrypt.
Security according to NIS2 directive (effective 17 October 2024)
Managing secure storage media is increasingly becoming a legal requirement. It enables organisations to prevent outbound data loss and inbound malware. With SafeConsole modules such as Device Control, Anti-malware and PortBlocker, organisations can have full control over what happens to the data on their secure storage media. This meets the requirements of the NIS2 directive, which comes into force on 17 October 2024.

IronKey D500S offers the highest level of security
Military-level XTS-AES 256-bit hardware encryption with FIPS 140-3 Level 3 (pending) ccertification which replaces the old standard FIPS 140-2 and therefore has the latest security requirements around cryptography and secure data storage (in Data-At-Rest mode). In addition, the stick features secure components and is TAA compliant. In addition, IronKey D500 series offers prevention against BadUSB, password attacks. Also, the drive features a so-called self-test during booting and detection of temperature and voltage conditions that makes it automatically shut down itself. As a result, the latest version offers protection against physical attacks such as Cold-boot and Side-channel attacks.
The IronKey D500S is a key pillar to meet Data Loss Protection (DLP) practices with the toughest military-grade security for compliance with data encryption laws and regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOX and CCPA.
