As a user, you can only access the data on the KOBRA Stick VS if you know the PIN code and if have the correct smartcard in your possession.

This secure USB stick is developed in Germany. The combination of two-factor authentication and smart card security ensures that only authorized personnel can access the data. The integrated smart card technology adds an extra line of defense that meets the highest security requirements of German BSI, NATO and European governments
The KOBRA VS Client software is a free Windows program that comes with your secure USB stick. You'll be ready in three simple steps:
- Download the software (you'll receive the link and license from us for free by e-mail)
- Set up your personal Admin and User PIN code
- Link your smartcard
We will send you a clear English or Dutch manual and are happy to help if you have any questions. Send us an email with the serial number of the Kobra VS stick and we'll make sure you can get started quickly!
The Kobra VS uses three different PIN codes for optimal security:
Admin PIN (device configuration)
- Default PIN code: 87654321
- PIN length 4-16 digits
- 16 attempts allowed
- Manual: Chapter 3.5
User PIN (smartcard configuration)
- Default PIN code: 1234
- PIN length 4-12 digits
- 3 attempts allowed
- Manual: Chapter 3.4
SO-PIN/PUK (Use after 3 incorrect User-PIN attempts
- Use SO-PIN when LED blinks red and then orange. It requires a new DEK key (Data Encryption Key)
- Sandaard SO PIN code: 1234567890
- PIN length 4-12 digits
- 10 attempts allowed
- Manual: Chapter 3.4
Important: It is strongly recommended to change all default PIN codes immediately after first use.
