Mic-Lock TAA microphone blockers for defence, government and critical environments

For organisations that do not want any risks with audio privacy, supply chain security and to ensure origin control, three specialised TAA solutions are available: Mic-Lock USB-C Mini TAA; Mic-Lock 3.5 mm TAA and Mic-Lock Lightning Mini TAA. Unlike generic dummy plugs, Mic-Lock is the only microphone blocker with a patented circuit that uses MOSFET technology sending a controlled silence signal back into the device that fully takes over the active audio channel. This prevents external audio being recorded by the microphone and helps you meet the strict requirements of defence, government and other high‑risk environments where: demonstrable audio privacy, TAA‑compliant hardware and reliable endpoint protection are integral parts of your security policy.

Why Mic-Lock TAA?

As confidential conversations, operational information and sensitive project data must remain protected, the standard Mic-Lock accessory is not enough. The Mic-Lock TAA series is designed for environments where only controlled hardware, a secure procurement strategy and proof of origin  are acceptable. This aligns directly with the requirements of defence, government and critical infrastructure, such as SCIF environments and mobile units.

Mic-Lock is not just a simple plug, but an active, electronic patented microphone blocker. It convinces the device that a microphone is connected, while in reality it only sends silence back. As a result, Mic-Lock becomes the primary audio source and no external audio is recorded through the microphone input as long as the Mic-Lock device is plugged in.

For organisations that require TAA-compliant hardware, that difference matters. TAA compliance is about controlled origin: certain government contracts products must be manufactured in NATO or in a designated TAA country, or demonstrably transformed there. This is especially relevant for tenders and security projects with strict compliance.

Mic-Lock TAA models for your security policy

The Mic-Lock TAA series consists of 3 variants for different devices with different connectors: Mic-Lock 3.5 mm TAA for systems with a 3.5 mm audio jack; Mic-Lock USB-C Mini TAA for modern USB-C devices, and Mic-Lock Lightning Mini TAA for Apple devices with a Lightning connector. This creates a consistent approach to microphone protection across mixed-device environments where audio anti-eavesdropping privacy, secure endpoints and controlled hardware are a standard part of the security policy, as frameworks including NIS2 describe for securing endpoints.
