The difference between the Viasat DARC 600 and the Viasat DARC 100

For the DARC 600 series, everything starts with how the key is managed. These drives first need a special government key before you can use them securely. A Crypto Custodian delivers and manages these keys in a safe and controlled way. Hart 4 Technology guides you step by step in this process. The Crypto Custodian loads the keys and the user token data with the Crypto Custodian Kit, which you buy separately.

The DARC 100 series works differently. These drives create their own key with the Random Key Generator. This means they are ready to initialize and roll out in your organisation as soon as they are delivered. This makes the DARC 100 convenient if you want to start quickly without arranging a government key first.
